The Bhutan Badminton Federation celebrated International Women’s Day today. The Federation also joined the virtual celebration of the day hosted by Badminton Asia (BA) with a theme, “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 World”.
Ms. Samjana Gurung (players) and Ms. Kinley Wangmo (players) joined the virtual celebration on behalf of the Federation.
This year, the theme for International Women’s Day (8 March), “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world,” celebrates the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the gaps that remain.
Despite various obstacles, women are at the forefront of various sides and inclusive movements for social change. It is also ahead in various activities including blogging, entertainment, sports.
Racquet game have always made the country famous in the domestic and international arena of sports. From team sports to individual sports – the dominance of female athletes has been seen everywhere.
So, Let’s make 2021 count for women and girls everywhere. Happy women’s day to all.
