The Bhutan Badminton Federation signed a contract with Mr. Anish Gurung and Mr. Jimba Sangay Lhendup to be trained for two-and-half years at the Ponsana Badminton Academy in Thailand starting July 2022.
The training is supported by the BOC. The two athletes was objectively selected based on the Minimum Qualification Standard (MQS); General fitness test, performances of weekend tournament and ranking conducted during the advanced winter training camp 2022.
Their selection was also based on the recommendation of the coaches for their ability to enhance their skills and performances on the international platform. The training is targeted toward the 14th and 15th South Asian Games and other international competitions.
