Bhutanese Badminton Federation (BBF) awarded incentives to the junior players who brought home medals from the South Asia Regional Junior Badminton Championship 2022 which was held from 26th to 30th September 2022 at Guwahati, Assam. The medalists were recognized for their excellent performance and were awarded cash incentives in a small ceremony organized by the BBF.
The ceremony began with a speech by the General Secretary (GS), who congratulated the players who participated in the tournament and wished them success in their future endeavors. The General Secretary highlighted the importance of such championships in providing a platform for young players to showcase their talent and compete with their peers from across the region.
During the ceremony, the BBF awarded Nu. 10000/- cash incentives to the medal winners in various categories. Ms. Jigme Sonam Droelkar and Ms. Palden Zhizang Lhamo were awarded for their bronze medal in Women’s Doubles in the U17 category, while Mr. Avik Balampaki and Mr. Tshering Dendup were recognized for their bronze medal in Men’s Doubles in the same category. Ms. Yeshey Leksel Dorji and Ms. Yeshi Tenzin Lhamo were awarded for their bronze medal in Women’s Doubles in the U15 category. Coach Sherab Gyaltshen and Coach Norbu Dradhul was also awarded with the 10% cash incentive for their continue hard work and dedication.
A small celebration of the medal award ceremony concluded with a Hi-Tea. General Secretary also shared some words of wisdom and encouragement to the young players, urging them to work hard to achieve their dreams and to continue representing Bhutan in international competitions.
BBF recognition of the young players’ achievements highlights the federation commitment to promoting the sport of badminton in Bhutan and nurturing young talent. The award of cash incentives is also a way of motivating the players to continue to strive for excellence and to represent their country with pride in future competitions.
