Our Para-Badminton athlete, Mr. Cheyang Kinchap, Para-Badminton Coach Mr. Dorji, and Physiotherapist Ms. Tandin Wangmo have successfully completed their respective training programs and workshops in Japan, held from 17th to 27th October 2024.

In addition, Mr. Cheyang Kinchap, a young para-badminton player from Bhutan, represented the country in his first international tournament at the HULIC DAIHATSU Japan Para Badminton International 2024, held from October 22nd to 27th in Tokyo. Competing in the Standing Lower 3 (SL3) category, Mr. Kinchap began his journey in Group D of the league round.

On October 22nd, he faced off against a player from Slovakia, concluding the match with a score of 13-21, 12-21. The following day, he competed against an Indian opponent, finishing 7-21, 3-21, and on October 24th, he went up against another player from India, closing the game with scores of 6-21, 9-21.

Despite the losses, Mr. Kinchapโ€™s debut on the international stage marks a promising start, providing him with essential exposure to the high-level competition. His determination and resilience at a young age suggest a bright future in para-badminton, with significant potential for growth and achievement in the years to come.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Bhutan Paralympic Committee and Badminton Asia for their unwavering support, making this international experience possible for our athletes and team.
